Neighborhood Safety

Let's work together to keep Estates West a safe neighborhood!

Crime Watch:

You can check our neighborhood’s crime activity anytime by visiting http://www.dallasareawatch.com and downloading the neighborhood report for Estates West.

Volunteers in Patrol (VIP):

VIP members are neighborhood volunteers trained by the City of Dallas who work in partnership with local police as their eyes and ears! VIP members are dedicated to making our community a safe place to live by patrolling the neighborhood and reporting any suspicious activity to Association Members and, when necessary, to the police.

Our volunteers have the opportunity to meet once a month at the North Central Police station to share information from police and discuss any relevant issues.

How does it work?

VIP volunteers are trained through the Dallas Police Department. Once trained, VIP members sign-up online for their patrol route each month during a convenient day and time. Our goal is to have one AM and one PM patrol each day!

Two VIP members sign-up and patrol up and down every street and alley in Estates West, as well as the area around Bowie Elementary School. The routes (driven in VIP member's own personal vehicles) usually take about 1-1.5 hours to complete.

If you are interested in helping Estates West maintain a low crime rate, we encourage you to join our “VOLUNTEERS IN PATROL!” For more information, e-mail VIP@estateswest.org or mark VIP on your volunteer interest form in your Membership Toolkit account.

North Central Police Station:

Our closest police station is the North Central Police Station located at 6969 McCallum Blvd. VIP members meet there each month for their meetings. Many of our residents support the hardworking policemen/women at North Central by bringing them lunch or other goodies they can enjoy while on shift.
